Selma Foundation has partnered with Blessing With A Purpose, a U.S.-based nonprofit, to provide life-changing opportunities for underserved children through sponsorships and donations. Together, we are committed to ensuring that every child has access to education, care, and the support they need to thrive.
The Selma Foundation was founded by Rev. Vida Selma Koomson and Rev. Robert Koomson. Rev. Vida Selma Koomson is a Montessori Consultant and educator with over 30 years of experience working with both mainstream and underprivileged children. She possesses extensive expertise in Montessori education and Christian ministry. Throughout her career, Selma has collaborated with reputable national and international organizations and institutions, including Morning Glory Montessori Child Development Centre, Twinees Montessori School, West End International School, Sovereign International School, and Rhiza Foundation Ghana (International NGO – Country Director).
Selma Koomson completed her secondary education at Labone Senior Secondary School before furthering her studies in Passenger Handling Sales and Reservation at Ghana Airways Training. She also holds a Diploma in Montessori Education and Consultancy, a Diploma in NGO Project Management from the Cambridge Center of Excellence, and a B.Sc. in Education from the University of Cape Coast.
Currently, Selma serves as the Resident Pastor of Thy Word Foundation Chapel International, Co-Founder of the Selma Foundation, and the Proprietor of Destiny Faith Christian International School. She is married to Rev. Robert Koomson, whose unwavering support has been key to her many accomplishments. Together, they have three biological children and six adopted children.
With over 250 children and growing, the Selma Foundation remains a beacon of hope, offering education and specialised support to underserved societies. Through this partnership, we are shaping a brighter future – one child at a time.
Selma Foundation also supports Destiny Faith International School, which provides education from creche and nursery to primary and junior high school, ensuring that children receive a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
